Phyl's Curried Chicken and Chickpeas

1 chicken, cut up
2 onions, chopped
1-1/2 T flour (use gluten free flour to make this recipe gluten free)
1 T curry powder
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1-1/2 cups chicken broth
2 T soy sauce
2 or 3 T honey
1 can chick peas, drained and rinsed
Brown chicken in margarine/oil and remove. Place in baking pan.
In same pan chicken was browned in, place 2 chopped onions. Brown onions in remaining juices, with flour, curry powder, and ginger.
Combine chicken broth, soy sauce and honey. Add sauce to onions and simmer a few minutes till thickened. Add chickpeas. Pour everything over chicken. Cover with foil. Bake covered 1 hour at 350 degrees or simmer on stove for 1 hour.
Serve over basmati rice.
