Connie's Ginger Molasses Cookies

1-1/2 cups butter, margarine or shortening, melted
2 cups sugar
½ cup molasses
4 tsp. baking soda
4 cups flour
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
Preheat oven to 375.
Melt butter or shortening, let cool. Beat sugar, egg and molasses together, then add melted butter or shortening.
Mix flour, soda, and spices and add to the butter mixture. Chill briefly to make the dough easier to handle.
Form into 1 inch balls and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 7-9 minutes. Don’t overcook!
Cookies freeze well.
